Building partnerships in digital mental health and ageing research
The Life Course Development Research Institute (LCDRI) at Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU) was honored to welcome a delegation from Tung Wah College’s Transdisciplinary Research Centre for Digital Mental Health (TRC‑DMH) on 20 November 2025. The visit marked the beginning of a promising collaboration that bridges research expertise, innovation, and community impact.
“This partnership reflects our shared vision to advance mental health and ageing research through technology and innovation.”
— Professor Ada Fung, LCDRI Director
Led by Professor Sally Chan, President of Tung Wah College, the delegation included Professor Rick Kwan, Professor Alex Chan, and research members from TRC‑DMH. They visit HKBU’s cutting‑edge research facilities, including the Visualization Research Centre, Innovative Gerontology Lab, and Life Science Imaging Centre. These visits highlighted HKBU’s strong foundation in ageing, health, and technology research.
In a series of discussions, both teams explored opportunities to extend research collaboration in the domains of ageing, brain, and mental health. Plans include establishing joint thematic groups across life stages to guide collaborative initiatives over the next three years.
LCDRI looks forward to deepening this partnership with TRC‑DMH, driving impactful, interdisciplinary research that supports healthier and more resilient communities.
