About LCDRI

The Life Course Development Research Institute (LCDRI) at Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU) was launched in November 2024 with a vision to improve population health across the life course, from infancy to old age. The LCDRI addresses a wide range of health conditions and social challenges. Our experts focus on gaining a better understanding of the determinants across different life stages that shape lifelong health and social outcomes. Our work is well aligned with the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals 1, 3, 4, 10, and 11

Our mission is to be a leading center for interdisciplinary research and community practice, developing impactful solutions for health and social challenges. Our members collaborate with local and overseas institutions, community organizations, and industry partners.

The Institute supports capacity building for researchers working to improve community care and health equity. We serve as a hub that brings together experts from various disciplines with local community partners to ensure that research outputs are applicable and actionable. We seek to develop sustainable solutions that can significantly enhance health and social care for all.
