The Life Course Development Research Institute (LCDRI) at Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU) and the Translational Research Centre for Digital Mental Health (TRC-DMH) at Tung Wah College (TWC) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish a collaborative partnership that advances research and public engagement in life course development and digital mental health.
The agreement outlines plans to collaborate on research activities and seminars, share knowledge and resources, and develop joint projects.
The signing ceremony took place at Tung Wah College, with representatives from both institutions in attendance, including Prof. Daniel Lai, Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences at HKBU; Prof. Sally Chan, President of Tung Wah College; Prof. Ada Fung, Director of LCDRI; and Prof. Alex Chan, Co-Director of TRC-DMH. Several LCDRI members also participated in the ceremony to show their support and witness the signing.
Following the signing of the MoU, Prof. Sally Chan and her team led the LCDRI delegation on a tour of TWC’s specialty labs, highlighting potential areas for collaboration.
Reflecting on the visit, Prof. Daniel Lai shared: "I believe Hong Kong, as an education hub, has different institutions each with their own development and characteristics, but our synergy can help everyone develop even better. We hope that going forward we can develop joint projects, coauthor publications, and apply for joint research funding, and do more together."
LCDRI is confident the partnership will bring mutual benefits, deepen understanding in life course development and mental health, and broaden community engagement. Updates on joint initiatives and opportunities will follow.
